Recap of NaBloPoMo August 2013 Posts
Today is the last day of the BlogHer NaBloPoMo August 2013 challenge. The theme was HOT. I have written every day for 31 days. Another challenge completed! I’m now looking forward to September when I will host my own blog challenge, September Sapphire Even Day Blog Challenge. It starts this Monday, September 2, 2013.
Here are excerpts from some of my favorite posts from the NaBloPoMo this month…

What do I think makes a mother a Hot Momma? Her self-confidence, inner and outer beauty, and the love she shows for her children. Like the ladies below. What is extra special about these Hot Mommas? They are 40 and over like me!

Now it seems Summer is winding down and Fall is nearing. That means it’s time to watch the leaves change colors, turn the clocks back one hour, buy a new superhero Halloween costume for The Deuce, and gear up for Saints Football. WHO DAT?!

I thought, Do I get an avatar that resembles me? A light-skinned black female. Or do I get one that is white? Or do I get a brown-skinned black female? Or a header with objects and no female character? Do I let people wonder about my race or decide for themselves? Hubby joked that nobody would be able to tell from my pic if I was black or white anyway. I’ve heard that all my life, but I was still concerned. You see, I was scared to death that if I revealed too much about myself, I would not gain any readers. I was also afraid that black readers would think I was not revealing enough. I did not want to piss off anybody. I am not worthy of representing the entire black race nor did I want my blog to be about only black issues. Some of you may think that’s crazy, but it was very real for me. I wanted to write from my heart, but I did not want to be judged or alienated because I was discussing mainstream topics.
Juicing: Is This What The Hunger Games Is About?

This is a Public Service Announcement. I am doing a 3 day juicing plan starting Monday with fruit and vegetables only. No boxed wine allowed. No solid foods allowed. I can not be held responsible for the posts I write August 19-21, 2013.
Wondering if The Deuce should spend the night with relatives during this time. Just a thought.
This is me. Happier, Healthier, Wiser.
Did you participate in any blog challenges this month? If so, which ones?
Are you participating in any blog challenges for September? What about mine, hmmm?

I must say that the NaBloPoMo challenge was just that–a challenge. I don't know if it was the prompts or me, but I kept feeling like I was going to repeat the same content. And I didn't want to do that. So I had to reach. But that was probably the point. I appreciate you, girl.

Thank you, Melissa! That challenge was something else. I stretched my brain quite a bit.
