Knock…Knock…Housekeeping! 18 comments

I am still recuperating from the last two weeks. Transferring my blog to a new URL on my own, new paperback version of my book, Halloween, life, etc.

My apologies to any of you who received notifications about duplicate or deleted blog comments. I had some snafus importing all of my comments from the 52 commenting systems that I used with Blogger. I value your comments and I was adamant about getting them all transferred over to my new home here on WordPress.

Thank you to everyone who has expressed congratulations and support on my novel, Acting On Her Behalf. It is so appreciated. It is now available on Amazon in two formats: Kindle Edition and Paperback.

I was nominated for my second Sunshine Award by Natasha at Epic Mommy Adventures a few weeks ago. If you are not familiar with Natasha’s blog, be sure to go check it out. She hosts and co-hosts some awesome weekly linky parties and blog hops. She is also one of the authors of the new book, The Mother of All Meltdowns.

Here are my answers to Natasha’s questions…

1. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? Why? I haven’t traveled enough to answer this, but I’d still have to keep a house in Louisiana to be near family.

2. Favorite place to visit? Anywhere with a beach.

3. Favorite sweet snack? Twix

4. Make and model of your first car? 10-year-old Toyota Tercel. Stick shift. Had to learn how to drive it. A skill everyone should have.

5. Most embarrassing moment? Read about that here.

6. Fun thing to do in your spare time? Play Cityville on Facebook. Addictive!

7. Favorite blog post? Share the link! Flashback post on my 40th Birthday Surprise. Read it here.

8. Favorite TV show or movie? Way too many to name. Most of you know I’m addicted to Scandal, Real Housewives of Atlanta, and Young & the Restless along with several other shows. I’m a big ’80s movie fan.

9. Favorite moment of the day? When my son gets out of school. Love that face!

10. Are you a morning person or a night owl? Night owl. I’m actually more productive in the morning, although I try to resist it.

11. Favorite time of year? December. I love the preparation for Christmas almost more than the day itself.

What is your favorite moment of the day?

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

I need to move my site over to WordPress. I have just been DREADING it. I’ve done 3 site redesigns for the non-profits I work for, and I know how much work that is. Congrats to you!!

And thanks for linking up on This Momma’s Meandering Mondays!

It was a big adjustment for me. Still is. But I’m definitely pleased. Thank you, Lauren.

    Congrats on the award, Kimberly!

I’m a night owl all the way, even though I’m trying to work on it, as in get to bed earlier. Wish me luck!!

And anywhere near a beach works for me too!

Some nights I force myself to go to bed earlier, so I can be fresh in the morning. It makes such a difference.

#10, I am definitely a night owl, my creativity just flows better at night, I think its because is so peaceful at night.
Congrats again on a successful site transfer!

I get a second wind at night sometimes. Don’t know where it comes from. Or I fight sleep so I can get some things done.

Congratulations on the award! Aww, my favorite moment of the day is when I get home from work and my daughter comes running to the front door to give me a hug.
I tried to learn how to drive a stick shift once, but quickly learned that my coordination is off. I gave up after about 20 minutes.
Umm, so can you do my WordPress transition??? I’m scared… LOL

    • beingawordsmith Post author

I’m still scared, Kennie! LOL. It was very simple to follow Blogelina’s instructions. My biggest challenge was importing the Blogger comments that I had via Intense Debate instead of the default Blogger commenting system. I had to change URLs to match because I redirected the URL before I imported the Intense Debate comments. I had to tweak my feed burner too. But there are lots of great transfer articles on the web about how to rectify mistakes.

I was learning to drive a stick-shift when I first got married. Didn’t work out (the driving) but wish I knew how to drive one. Perhaps, I’ll practice when the kids leave home. Favorite moment of the day…..kicking my shoes off when I’ve finished running around all day.

    • beingawordsmith Post author

Kicking off your shoes is a great feeling. I was discussing wearing shoes at home with a fellow WAHM a few weeks ago. I told her that I feel more productive when I wear mine in the house. LOL.

I’m with you on the beach – my happy spot!!!
And, I still can’t drive a stick – I figure at 44 I’m too old to even bother learning!!!
My favorite time of day is usually when my oldest son gets home from school (HS) because he will spend an hour telling me all about his day and things going on – today he was in a mood so it wasn’t as great – joys of teen-age hormones!!!

Never too old to learn how to drive stick shift! I hope my son still tells me all about his day when he’s in high school, Kim.

One of my answer is so opposite of yours it makes me feel bad. My favorite moment of the day is when I come back from walking Christopher to the bus stop and my husband is still sleep. I’m a morning person as long as I can grasp it by myself 😉 If things go wrong first thing my day doesn’t go right.

Now why do I want a Twix?

Congrats on another award lady! You know I’m right there with you on Scandal. Do you watch the Goodwife? I’ve never seen you blog about that I don’t think. It’s so good. How was ATL? I didn’t watch last night and forgot to record. Is it worth it this go round?

I remember that post about your 40th well. What an awesome birthday!

    • beingawordsmith Post author

Yes, I watch The Good Wife. It is so good this season. Team Florrick-Agos! RHOA was good last night and the teasers for the new season are out of control. It’s going to be bananas! Porsha is getting her groove back. NeNe is back in ATL more since The New Normal was cancelled. No mention of Kim at all. Cynthia moved her agency to a bigger space. Phaedra calls her new baby “Mr. President”! Kenya is still crazy. Kandi’s mom doesn’t like her fiance, Todd. Deja Vu! That’s how things ended for Kandi and A.J. (R.I.P.) Thanks, Joi.
