Want a quick update of what’s going on in the world? Perhaps you missed something that happened after you went to bed. I can start my day off with this top 5 list of things on CNN.com that are trending in the news. It gives me a summary of each topic that almost always involves a related tweet.
2. Cold Justice on TNT
I watched the first season of this real-life crime series and was very impressed by it. It shows investigations into unsolved murder cases (cold cases) all over the country, but mostly in small towns. The frontrunners of the show are Kelly Siegler, a County Prosecutor in Texas who has tried 68 murder cases and never lost and Yolanda McClary, a former Las Vegas Metro Police Detective who has worked over 7,000 crime scenes. McClary was the inspiration for Marg Helgenberger’s character on CSI:Crime Scene Investigation.
These two women work with local law enforcement to re-open cases. If they can obtain enough evidence against a viable suspect, they compile a case to take to the D.A. What is special about this show is the genuine concern and heartfelt desire for justice that viewers witness from McClary and Siegler–particularly with the victim’s family and friends. Dick Wolf of the Law & Order franchise is an executive producer. The second season of Cold Justice premieres this Friday, January 17, 2014 at 8/7c on TNT.
3. Tide Pods
I have previously posted about my love/hate relationship with laundry. I have come across one bright spot in doing it. Tide Pods. No more measuring liquid laundry detergent for me. I just pop one of these bad boys in with the clothes, choose a setting, and I’m done! It’s a detergent, stain remover, and brightener all in one. The entire pod dissolves in water and works in standard and high-efficiency washers.
