September Sapphire Even Day Blog Challenge Broadcast Day 1

1. My Rigged Recipes

Louisiana Seafood Gumbo Rigged

I share recipes that I “rig” so they are easier to make and a tad bit healthier. I am a self-taught home cook who enjoys showing off what I come up with. Check out my Rigged Recipes gallery page here.

2. Linky parties that I host

Traffic Jam Weekend Linky Party

I host a monthly linky party called Traffic Jam Weekend during one of the last weekends of the month. It was inspired by a writing prompt from last year’s SSEDBC. Bloggers are encouraged to link up their old posts to generate new comments and traffic. I choose two posts to feature at the following month’s party. I am always amazed by the diversity of the posts shared.

I also host a bi-weekly social media link-up called the PIG Linky Party. Bloggers can share their Pinterest, Instagram, and Google+ URLs. It goes live every other Thursday.

3. My son, The Deuce, is awesome

The boy is good looking, smart as a whip, and provides plenty of content for my blog. ParentSociety.com chose one of my posts about him, Day Off From School (Bueller…Bueller?), as one their favorite blog posts of the week. Read it here to find out why.

4. I am big on sharing and paying it forward

I began blogging in January 2013 as a way to motivate me to finish writing my mystery novel, Acting On Her Behalf. I never expected to connect with so many great people by doing so. I published my book in October 2013. And most of my sales have come from bloggers, writers, and readers of Being A Wordsmith. I promote my peers whenever I can. It takes a village.
