We are all guilty of making a beeline to a task that we enjoy doing first thing in the morning. But what about that thing that we know we must do today but keep avoiding? It’s haunting our to-do list. It’s getting in the way of our productivity.
“Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.”
Who wouldn’t agree with that quote?
Mark Twain’s utterance has become the basis of corporate training and personal development books on high levels of productivity created by Brian Tracy. In a nutshell, the concept is about doing the task(s) that are the most difficult first thing in the morning. Do the item(s) on your to-do list that you absolutely don’t want to do but need to do. Then you can get down to the business of writing, blogging, networking, and being prosperous.
How many times a day do you skirt around a difficult task?
Do you procrastinate all day on that to-do until you simply have to push it off until tomorrow? When you eat that frog, your energy will soar and you’ll do a little victory dance around your work area. The feeling will be liberating. First task of the blogging day. Check! Hardest task of the blogging day. Check!
There are also a variety of Eat That Frog! apps for iOS and Android.
