I can’t believe it’s Even Day Ten of the September Sapphire Even Day Blog Challenge already! Have you answered the questions from the previous days yet? There’s still time to jump on the bandwagon.
Now for today’s question…
With only a little over 3 months left in 2016, I have been reflecting on what I have
failed to do yet to accomplish. Aside from my 101 Things in 1001 Days Challenge, I have a host of things that I want to finish before I ring in 2017. However, there is one goal on my #101in1001 that I want to achieve before December 31st…DO A MAJOR PURGE OF MY E-MAIL INBOXES! Yes, it’s seriously out of control. Look at how many e-mail messages I have…
Guess what? It gets more serious. Those are UNREAD e-mails, so imagine how many I really have in my main 7 e-mail accounts. Yep, 7 main ones. Why so many? Because I attempted to separate personal, professional, semi-personal, semi-professional, junk, I-have-no-idea-why, etc. Can you say epic fail?

This is going to be a major undertaking because believe it or not, there is a plethora of real info in those e-mail messages. Particularly legitimate income earning opportunities and important reference information. So while doing massive unsubscribe and delete tasks to get rid of junk, I need to organize and take action on saving much needed messages. This will be a very time consuming project, but it’s vital to my bank account and my sanity!
Here is how I will divide and conquer…
- Projects & Project Plans
- Waiting For
- Next Actions
Great process from the book Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity by David Allen. I did a 4 part series on it: Mastering Workflow, From Inbox To Next Action, Reviewing Your Process, and The Endgame. So I know what to do, now I just need to do it.
How many unread e-mails do you have in your inboxes?
What goal would you like to achieve before the end of the year?
Have you entered my birthday giveaway?
