Planning For Profitable Success With Your Blog

This post contains paid affiliate program links
Week 3 of the Blogelina e-course that I’ve been taking taught essentials on planning for profitable success. Monetizing your blog. The very subject is debatable.
You should ask yourself IF and WHEN you will make money with your blog. Believe it or not, some readers avoid blogs with affiliate ads, paid referral links, or products for sale. If you are not currently monetizing your blog but would like to begin–MAKE YOUR CONTENT THE STAR OF THE SHOW. Readers who are not fond of the money making aspects will still be drawn to your content if it is the focus of your blog.
When should you monetize your blog?
If you have traffic, you have the potential to earn money. However, some affiliate programs will only accept established blogs with a certain number of pageviews. Check the program rules when signing up for specifics.
How can you monetize your blog?
Ads are the most popular way.
- The content of your ads should have a relation to the content of your posts.
- They must be of interest to your readers for them to be clickable.
Consider how many ads and how to display them.
- Above The Fold–can be seen without having to scroll down the page
- Sidebars
- Within Your Posts
- Footer–reader will have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of your page to see it
Most people read blogs from upper left (most viewed) to lower right (least viewed).
