Here is a quick and easy recipe for delicious chili that I rigged. C’est si bon!
1/2 lb. dried navy beans, rinsed
1/2 lb. dried red beans, rinsed
10 oz. can of RoTel Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies
1-1/2 lbs. ground turkey, browned and drained
1 medium white onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp cumin
3 cups chicken broth

salt and pepper to taste
Combine all the ingredients in a slow cooker/crockpot. Set on high for 5 hours. To thicken, remove cover for last hour to release moisture.

If you ever make it to Washington, DC there is a restaurant called Busboys and Poets that has great food. At one point they also had some kind of American Sign Language open mic…very unique spot.
That does sound unique. Never been to D.C., but I have family there so I hope to visit. Thank you.
Oh yeah to this recipe. Will be adding it on Pinterest. I’m all about crockpot recipes!
I appreciate that, Alison! I’m making spaghetti sauce in the crockpot now.
This looks delicious! Heading over to pin it for later!
Thank you, Cara! It’s quick and easy.
This would be a great, no fuss dish to make. Thanks for sharing!
PS. Love the new blog design!
It is so easy to do. Thanks, LaTara!
Chili in the crockpot? I’m slapping myself for not trying a recipe like this sooner. It looks great!
Thanks Josie! My crockpot has been getting a lot of use lately. It is a great time saver too.
Mmm, that looks so yummy. And seems a lot healthier than the variations of chili we make.
I also like that my 6 year old loves chili. Thanks for stopping by, Aleshea.
This sounds like a great recipe Kimberly! I will try in for sure in the cold days to come.
In my family we exchange gifts on the night of the 24th, because i come from a Dutch descent Afrikaans family, but in my husband’s family they exchange gifts the morning of the 25th because they are a British descent family, so we now do things the English way one year and the Afrikaans way the other year.
That is so neat. I enjoy hearing about different traditions. Thanks for sharing, Corlie.
Yes I mix beans, and I love chili. All kinds of chili! Excited to try your recipe!
I just started mixing beans. Very pleased with the outcome.
Yum! I’m a huge fan of adding beans to dishes, especially chili, and I love how you used turkey here instead of the traditional beef. This is definitely something we’d make in our home!
We exchange gifts with the whole family (though our whole family isn’t big), and I actually just did a TON of online deal-searching today and knocked out a few folks on my list. Felt good to do that!
We eat a lot of ground turkey. So much so that my son has no idea that it’s not ground beef. Thanks, Erin!
YUM! That sounds so great 🙂 I think I’ll add this to my list of ‘want to make’ items 🙂
Glad to hear it, Jenn. Thank you.
Chilli looks yummy! My family isn’t that big. Seems that the aunts get gifts for everyone and that’s pretty much it. I haven’t started shopping but I have an exact list so I just need to go get to it.
I did get a We Montage after taking advantage of Michell’s post a few weeks ago. It is beautiful if you have someone you’d like to get one for!
I always have tons of gifts to get. So I’m going to try something a little different this year. I’ll be writing a post about it soon. Thanks, Joi.
My husband would LOVE this. Thanks for sharing.
Happy to do so, Krystal. We enjoyed it this weekend.
Looks tasty!!!
We don’t really exchange gifts in my family and neither does my husband’s family. I sort of prefer it that way – it takes the pressure off of everyone.
You guys don’t exchange gifts? Oh please trade places with me one year! I would love the absence of the pressure.
