  1. If you ever make it to Washington, DC there is a restaurant called Busboys and Poets that has great food. At one point they also had some kind of American Sign Language open mic…very unique spot.

    1. That does sound unique. Never been to D.C., but I have family there so I hope to visit. Thank you.

    1. Thanks Josie! My crockpot has been getting a lot of use lately. It is a great time saver too.

  2. This sounds like a great recipe Kimberly! I will try in for sure in the cold days to come.
In my family we exchange gifts on the night of the 24th, because i come from a Dutch descent Afrikaans family, but in my husband’s family they exchange gifts the morning of the 25th because they are a British descent family, so we now do things the English way one year and the Afrikaans way the other year.

    1. That is so neat. I enjoy hearing about different traditions. Thanks for sharing, Corlie.

  3. Yum! I’m a huge fan of adding beans to dishes, especially chili, and I love how you used turkey here instead of the traditional beef. This is definitely something we’d make in our home!

We exchange gifts with the whole family (though our whole family isn’t big), and I actually just did a TON of online deal-searching today and knocked out a few folks on my list. Felt good to do that!

    1. We eat a lot of ground turkey. So much so that my son has no idea that it’s not ground beef. Thanks, Erin!

  4. Chilli looks yummy! My family isn’t that big. Seems that the aunts get gifts for everyone and that’s pretty much it. I haven’t started shopping but I have an exact list so I just need to go get to it.

I did get a We Montage after taking advantage of Michell’s post a few weeks ago. It is beautiful if you have someone you’d like to get one for!

    1. I always have tons of gifts to get. So I’m going to try something a little different this year. I’ll be writing a post about it soon. Thanks, Joi.

  5. Looks tasty!!!
We don’t really exchange gifts in my family and neither does my husband’s family. I sort of prefer it that way – it takes the pressure off of everyone.

    1. You guys don’t exchange gifts? Oh please trade places with me one year! I would love the absence of the pressure.
