Are you familiar with the traditional Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos? It is commemorated every November 1st and 2nd in honor of the deceased. Latin America and areas with a Latino population celebrate these two days with much fanfare.

The celebration is akin to the Western Christianity holidays, All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is intended to be a joyful event not one of sadness and grief. To make the most of these two days, families and friends utilize day of the dead decorations on their faces, homes, and the graves of their loved ones. It’s quite a sight to behold.
Have you ever participated in a #dayofthedead celebration?
Do you recognize All Saints Day or All Souls Day?
See ya later,
Kimberly

I’ve always felt it’s so important to treat a person’s “graduation” from this life with celebration and not mourning. LOVE the idea of this holiday and had never heard of it before. Thanks for sharing!

It is a very interesting tribute. The decorations are amazing.
I actually just put up some Dia de los Muertos decorations on my front door! I love the sugar skulls 🙂
Cool! I really enjoyed learning more about this event.
