Whether we’re working out, hunching over a desk, or carrying a toddler, our daily lives wreak havoc on our muscles. Unfortunately, even though life takes it out of us, it often doesn’t give us a break to sit and nurse the wounds it gave. That’s when pain relief methods become a commodity. If you’re into an all-natural remedy where you know every ingredient that goes into it, this is an easy way to make your own CBD balm.
½ cup Coconut Oil
½ cup Shea Butter
1/3 cup Beeswax
5 drops of an Essential Oil
If you were making a soup, you know you would have a better experience with better ingredients. The same is true for CBD balm. Be sure to check reviews and the certificate of analysis of any CBD oil that you buy to ensure it has everything in it that you want. Otherwise, you can cut out the middleman, and buy your own recovery system to extract the CBD yourself. Be sure to ask your doctor about dosage.
The essential oils you choose to put in your balm are up to you, but some oils are more suited to pain relief and relaxation than others. When you’re deciding what kind to use, consider:
You can also elect to grow your own essential oil garden and extract or distill your own essential oils for the complete homegrown experience. Pain inhibitors come in many forms which allow you the flexibility to try different kinds until you find what works best for you.
How to Make Your Own CBD Balm
- Heat coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax in a double boiler until they have fully melted and combined. Remove from heat.
- Once cooled down, add the CBD oil and mix thoroughly. (Note: CBD oil always takes more stirring than you think!) Also, add the essential oil.
- Place in an airtight jar or another container.
Remember, heat, light, and air will all negatively impact your CBD products. So, be sure to store your balm in a dark, cool place. You may even consider painting the outside of the container a dark color.
How to Apply
To use CBD pain balm, simply apply it to the tender areas as needed. If you are applying it on your face, be wary about getting it in your eyes and never ingest it. If you have someone in your life who can give you a massage, have them use your balm for the ultimate pain relief.
