Hey y’all, I’m Kimberly H. Smith and…

I survived chickenpox, Catholic school, cancer, and childbirth.

I was born and raised in south Louisiana and have a B.A. in Theatre from Louisiana State University (LSU) where I minored in Mass Communications. I fulfill my passion for writing here at Being A Wordsmith with lifestyle blogging, sponsored content, and peer connections.

I started blogging in January 2013, because I needed a motivator to complete my murder mystery novel that I had been working on for many years. I published Acting On Her Behalf in October 2013. You can purchase it in paperback or digital format here. I am currently debating whether to write a sequel or adapt my novel into a screenplay.

If you learn anything on my site, it’ll be about one of these topics:

  • My self-employed, independent contractor life
  • Raising an only child (it’s his pre-teen world, Hubby and I are just living in it)
  • My easy rigged recipes
  • Being a Kansas resident who grew up in Louisiana
  • Productivity tips for organization, home improvement, blogging, and social media
  • Entertainment and pop culture
  • And how sarcasm makes my days so much brighter

I also hostTraffic Jam Weekend Linky Party, a weekly online link-up that goes live here on Thursdays at 5:00 pm CST. It fosters a community of bloggers, writers, and entrepreneurs who upload their old and new posts to get more comments and traffic. Posts are chosen by me and my co-hosts as our favorites for the following week’s party.

  3. Greetings,

I would love to speak to you about running some of our branded advertising campaigns from Fortune 1000 advertisers that all pay on a CPM basis.

We have a lot of great branded advertisers that I think would make a great fit for your site and help you maximize the amount of money you are earning on your site. I know we could help you make more money than any of your existing ad networks and would love to set up a test and prove our capabilities.

Please let me know when we can jump on a quick call to discuss in more detail.

My best wishes to you and the rest of your team.

    Warm Regards
    Melissa Mandrake

  4. Hello! I found your blog through the SITS Girls site! Your tag line shows that you are a strong person. You have experienced many things and have much to share. Congratulations on the feature on SITSgirls and on publishing your first book. Do you have another book in the works?

    • Yes, I do have another book in the works. Praying that it won’t take another 16 years for me to finish it and publish it. LOL. Thank you!

    • I came up with that tagline during a blogging challenge. Express yourself in 10 words or less. And it stuck. Thanks, Lauryn.

  6. You are too cute! You look like all of my cousins in NOLA! Thank you for swinging by my way offering your support. I plan to do the same for you 😉 I look forward to diving into your blog and getting to know you more! Happy Wednesday!

    • It's been a pleasure getting to know you already, Christy. And you and I have very similar facial features too, girl! Meeting another chick from BR while blogging is too funny.
